FOOD YOU WANT TO COOK
This is everyday food, the food I make for friends and family. The recipes are simple – they don’t need skills beyond basic – and they’re so good. I think the title tells you everything:
This is a soup to nuts, mains to desserts, and everything in between cookbook with 150 or so recipes for food you can make – and will want to make -- every day.
What I love most about the recipes are the little surprises I wiggled into them.
Even when there’s a recipe for something you think you know well, you’ll find something unexpected in it.
There’s a shepherd’s pie flavored with Mediterranean spices; mustard mixed into my newest gougères (I love those little French cheese puffs); walnuts worked into meatballs; gochujang in a beef stew; and dried cranberries tossed into pasta with cabbage and squash.
And wait until you see the pictures – they’re gorgeous and there are oodles of them.
These are recipes for casual, delicious food, easily made, using ingredients you probably already have at home. I don’t do fussy – I do inviting and comforting.
I can’t wait until the book is out in the world and we can trade stories about the food we’re cooking from it. In the meantime, while you’re waiting for your pre-ordered copy to arrive, I’ll be posting sneak-peek recipes for you – xoDorie
